Happy humpday dolls! It’s been a crazy few weeks for us. Julianna’s sister got married last weekend back in Des Moines, so she’s been recovering from the celebrations. I feel like I’ve been traveling non-stop for work… In case you missed it, I was in Seattle for a week (travel tips + favorite Seattle spots coming soon!) I’m headed to Milwaukee at the end of the week, and then will be off to Atlanta next week. Oh, and last week during Macy’s Christmas in July sale, I bought a new headboard for my bedroom… which then turned into Ryan and I painting all of the trim in our house, replacing all the doors, and updating our staircase railing and 2nd floor loft bannisters. Let’s just say it’s a work in progress… I don’t think Joanna Gaines will be calling me anytime soon for DIY collabs. 😉 But I will be posting about the mini-renovation once all the work is complete! (If anyone has any DIY tips, send them on over.)
Anyway, throughout all the craziness, statement sleeves have been my wardrobe go-to. Especially when traveling for work, I’ve found that it’s crucial to pack items that can double from the office to a night out. Statement sleeve tops are so incredibly versatile, and I love this mint colored blouse from Forever 21’s Contemporary line. (Available here.) This top can easily be dressed up for work, or dressed down with denim (my Hudson jeans on MAJOR sale, here.) I finished the look with my favorite Vince Camuto mules. (Available here.)
I never used to like Forever 21 clothing, because I felt like it would instantly fall apart after one wash. (Plus, you couldn’t pay me to walk in that store and attempt to sift through the racks of clothing… I get soooo overwhelmed with chaotic stores..) But the past couple of times I’ve purchased items from Forever, I’ve been pleasantly surprised.
Below I’ve picked out my favorite statement sleeves (including picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!!) Every top is less than $30, so here’s to not breaking the bank! Take a look and happy shopping babes!
