From The Office to Happy Hour: How To Transition Your Corporate Looks

Happy Tuesday, dolls! Another week is in the works, and per usual, we’re working for the weekend. If you’re anything like us, you have two sections of your wardrobe; what you wear to work, and everything else. Lately, we’ve been trying to find trendy corporate looks that can be dressed down for a night out.

Today I’m sharing my go-to method for chic corporate looks, that can be easily transitioned to the after work happy hour. First, if you have a no-jeans policy, invest in a couple pairs of comfortable pants. I love the dress pants from Banana Republic, especially the Sloan-Fit. (Currently on sale!) These are cute enough to wear out and about after you leave the office as well. In January, my company finally implemented a business-casual dress code, so I can wear jeans everyday. That being said, if you are able to wear jeans to work, I still recommend wearing darker, non-ripped jeans to keep your look professional. I love Paige Denim jeans, (especially THESE) but for a more budget-friendly option, Topshop jeans take a close second in my book. (Loving THESE, THESE, and THESE.)

The easiest way to create those chic work looks that you won’t mind going out in is to find trendy tops that look good dressed up or dressed down. Nordstrom Rack is always my go-to for these items. If you ever need a work top, you’re sure to find something trendy there and at a reasonable price. I found this Como Vintage Bell Sleeve Blouse at the Rack last week. It’s only $26, and is the perfect transitional top for your work wardrobe. I wore it with my fav frayed-hem Paige jeans, (available HERE) but I’m also dying to try it with a pair of white skinnys, (THESE are currently sitting in my shopping cart.) I feel like this year’s trends (bell sleeves, ruffles, etc.) make it soooo easy to incorporate your favorite tops into your go-to corporate looks.

Shoes are obviously the other necessity for a look that can go from the office to a night out. Since I’m 5’2″ I tend to wear heels every day. For this outfit, I wore my Vince Camuto mules, (available HERE) a.k.a. my daily go-to. I honestly wear these at least 3 days each week. They’re really comfortable, and have a classy look to them. If heels aren’t your thing, there are plenty of flats that will dress up your look too.

Here are my favorite tops, heels and flats for the summer workplace:
