Every Chicago girl knows the struggle of balancing comfort, warmth, and fashion when temps begin to drop and Chiberia is juuuust around the corner. Although, we’ve been spoiled by what seems to be an extended fall – no complaints here! It’s easy to fall victim of the Sorels, leggings, and baggy sweater uniform, but let’s be honest, that’s just all too #basic. I mean, it’s pure survival mode at times – so trust us, we totally get it – but this year we’re determined to veer from the winter rut! Look good, feel good, right? This outfit will be on heavy rotation this winter!
These black thigh-high boots were featured on last weeks #fallfinds (read here). When I first spotted them, I knew it wouldn’t be long until they found their way into my closet (oops). Hesitant because I was already the proud owner of this Aldopair but convinced myself that a work-friendly and more casual/comfortable duo was necessary. It only took the first wear for the guilt to subside. They are the most comfortable boots everrrr! You almost feel like your wearing socks! Ha! They are also lined with a gold, zipper like detail around the sole giving it an extra flare and I love the bow-ties in the back.
I paired them with this Francesca’s lace up sweater (similar style here) and my favorite pair of jeans from Gap. I love that Gap offers a “long” option for us girls with a little extra height!
Yay for boot season! What are your winter “must haves”?
