Lazy Girl Beauty Hacks: Our 5-Minute Makeup Must-Haves

Happy Friday, ladies! For a shortened week, it sure felt like this week took forever. Julianna and I have both had a crazy few weeks, but luckily this weekend, we’re both going to get some much needed R&R. Let’s just hope the weather forecast shapes up so we can hangout poolside rather than being stuck inside.

I’m not sure about you gals, but as soon as the weather heats up, I turn into the LAZIEST human when it comes to my beauty routine. Maybe it has to do with the fact that even the slightest tan (more like sunburn) gives me an instant confidence boost. Or maybe it’s just because I really don’t want to layer on the makeup when I know it’s just going to melt off in the summer heat. No matter what the cause is, I have a feeling some of you ladies can relate. That being said, I thought I’d share my four go-to beauty products for a flawless 5-minute makeup routine.

1.) Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer

Two products in one; helloooo convenience. Over the years I’ve tried pretty much every foundation under the sun. From MAC to Bobbi Brown, trust me… been there, done that. The one foundation that I always come back to is Clinique. Even more difficult to find is a great concealer…. I HATE when a concealer creases, or even worse, wears off in a couple hours. I honestly don’t use any other concealers with this duo foundation + concealer.

How I Use It: Using the applicator wand, apply 3-5 dots under each eye. Then using a dampened Beauty Blender, blend the foundation under your eyes, around your eyelids, and through the top area of your cheek bones. Then, I apply any eye makeup (for instance, mascara – I’ll get to those details below). Then use the wand again to apply dots of the foundation throughout your face. Again, use the beauty blender to blend the foundation into your skin.

2.) Too Faced: Better Than Sex Mascara

I’m pretty sure the name says it all for this one. Again, I’ve tried every mascara possible, and this one is truly my favorite. It actually opens your eyes and gives your face that freshened look. I’m an eyelash curler addict, so I recommend curling your eyelashes before applying the mascara.

How I Use It: First, I curl my lashes. (I have this rose gold eyelash curler + tweezer set from Tweezerman, and it’s incredible.) Then I apply one layer of mascara. WAIT 30 SECONDS. Then curl your lashes again. (Trust me on this..) Then apply one last layer of mascara.

3.) Too Faced: Love Light Prismatic Highlighter

During the summer months, no one needs to be contouring. Save yourself the time and energy. Instead, for my go-to makeup look, I just apply this highlight powder to give my face a natural glow.

How I Use It: So, this might not be for everyone, but I’m like VERY obsessed with this highlight powder. Using a makeup sponge or Beauty Blender, I actually apply a small amount under my eyes (after applying my foundation + concealer of course.) Then using a loose-bristled makeup brush, I apply the highlight to the top of my cheek bones and the bridge of my nose.

4. Bobbi Brown: Art Sticks

In case you missed Wednesday’s Instagram; we’re more than obsessed with Bobbi Brown art sticks. They are a 2-in-1 liner and lip colors (again with the convenience here.) We’re firm believers in a little bit of lip color to finish off your makeup for a fresh look. If you’re into natural shades, I recommend these: Bare, Rich Nude, and Brown Berry. If you like bolder colors, I recommend: Rose Brown (pictured above), and Dusty Pink.

How I Use It: I use the art stick to line my lips first, then apply the color to my entire lips. It doesn’t get much easier than that!
