Once Ryan asked me to marry him, the first thing I panicked about was the bridesmaids. I already knew exactly who would be in my bridal party, but I wanted to ask them each in a cute and unique way. I had heard of people sending pre-made bridesmaid boxes with cute essentials for the big day, and I thought that was a really great idea. But, I wanted to do something a little bit more creative.
So, I went to Michaels and bought seven of these wooden boxes along with white acrylic paint, gold paper, and gold letters. I painted the outside of each box with two coats of paint and let them dry overnight. The next day, I attached the gold letters to the outside of the boxes, then I cut the gold paper to line the inside of the lids for each box. Next, I attached pink paper with a note for each bridesmaid to the gold paper, and then attached the gold paper to the inside of the lid.
Next came the fun part. I went to Smitten Boutique (one of my favorite boutiques in Chicago’s West Loop) to pick out candles, matches, and a couple other odds and ends for each bridesmaid box. My favorite gift I picked up was the Lilly Pulitzer agenda for each bridesmaid, that I marked with all of the important dates for the wedding. Then I ordered these amazing gold foil cards from Paper Tie Affair on Etsy to write each bridesmaid a personalized note. Lastly, I picked up a cute Essie polish along with some chocolates, and a mini bottle of champagne for each box. I added a cute straw to the bottles, then tied a big bow on the outside of the boxes, and finally the project was done!
