19 Week Bumpdate

Happy Thursday, dolls! I can’t believe Christmas is only 4 days away. Are you guys ready? I thought I’d put a quick bumpdate post together to let you all know how I’m feeling. I’m 5 days away from being halfway done with my pregnancy. I can’t get over how fast time is going by… what’s even crazier is how fast my belly is growing! In case you missed it on our Insta, I’m having a girl! We were supposed to find out next week during my 20 week ultrasound, but I’m way too impatient to not find out as soon as I possibly could. As soon as we found out we’re having a girl, I immediately began planning out the nursery. (Can’t wait to share all the details with you all!)

How Far Along: 19 Weeks and 2 days

How Big Is Baby Hickey: This week she’s the size of a mango 🙂

How Are You Feeling: I feel so much better these days… I’m definitely not as sensitive to smells or foods as I was in the first trimester. But I’m SOOO tired. I honestly go to bed at 7:30 every night.. no shame.

Wearing Any Maternity Clothes: I am LOVING my maternity jeans. I got them from A Pea In The Pod, and you can check them out HERE. They literally feel like you’re wearing sweatpants.

Cravings: Still craving grapefruit 24/7…. And I’m currently all about the Black Pepper Triscuits. If you haven’t tried them, I HIGHLY suggest you give them a whirl.

Miss Anything: I’m really missing sushi. My family is full of sushi lovers, so it’s basically a weekend/get-together staple when we’re all together. So I’ve been turning away from the spicy tuna and sticking with noodles instead.

Recent Purchases For Baby: I couldn’t resist buying the SNO by Happiest Baby this week. Currently 35% off! In case you haven’t heard of it, it’s basically the most genius bassinet ever created. It reads your babies reactions, cries, etc. and adjusts to soothe. It will lightly rock your baby when they’re crying, chooses the correct white noise, and keeps your baby in a protective swaddle to prevent rolling over. Learn more about the SNO benefits HERE. Also I just bought my diaper bag too! I was obsessed with THIS ONE from Fawn Designs, so I couldn’t pass it up.

Thanks for sending all your love and support! I’m super anxious for our 20 week ultrasound to find out if she’s developing correctly. Any prayers and positive vibes would be greatly appreciated!!

We hope everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas!

It’s A Girl! Baby Prepping & Products I’m Loving

Happy Wednesday, Dolls! We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. (Did anyone else shop the deals as much as we did?!) I kept finding myself filling my cart with maternity items and baby clothes. I’m officially in my second trimester (16 weeks in) so things are starting to feel very real. For those of you who missed it on our insta-story, we found out we’re having a girl!!

We couldn’t be more excited, and all I can think about are tutus and hair bows. I’m finally feeling better now too, as my morning sickness has subsided, and I have my appetite back. In case there are any pregnant ladies in your life, I wanted to round up some of my favorite products I’ve been using, and items I already have in prep for baby.

The Dock-A-Tot Deluxe +

I was eyeing the Dock-A-Tot before I even got pregnant. I had seen so many rave reviews about the product, so I knew it was on my must-have list for the baby. If you haven’t heard of this product before, it’s basically a baby lounger that you can take and use anywhere. Also they have tons of adorable covers, so you can change up your Dock-A-Tot look as often as you want.

Wusic Womb Music

Julianna’s sister told me about this one! This heartbeat monitor makes it so easy to listen to your baby’s heartbeat, even in the first trimester. It’s only $55 on Amazon, and would make an amazing gift for any mommy-to-be! It’s so comforting to listen to your baby’s heartbeat whenever you want.

The Ollie Swaddle

How adorable is the packaging for this swaddle?! The Ollie Swaddle is known for its incredibly soft, stretchy fabric, as well as the Velcro tabs that help to keep it in place around little ones. Much like the Dock-A-Tot, the reviews for these swaddles are too good to ignore. I just can’t wait to give it a try come May! 🙂

Stretch Mark Prevention

I’ve been using Burt’s Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter, along with Era Organics stretch mark oil. I don’t have any stretch marks yet, but I’m super paranoid about getting them. I’ve been using the Burt’s Bees Mama Butter for the past few months. I just put it on each day after I shower. My favorite part about it is that is doesn’t have a scent! (Major bonus during the first trimester when every scent made me nauseous.) Over the past few weeks I’ve been using the Era Organics oil as well. It doesn’t leave you feeling greasy, but moisturizes your skin immediately.

Oh Baby, We’re Pregnant! Bumpdate: 12 Weeks

Oh Baby We're Pregnant 2

EEEKKKK! I’m so excited to finally tell you all that Ryan and I are expecting. It’s been so hard for me to keep this a secret. I’m 12 weeks along, and literally could not be more thrilled to be pregnant.

In case you didn’t know, I’m the youngest in my family, and both of my sisters each have two kids. We’re just so excited that our baby will have cousins that are close in age. On Ryan’s side, he’s the oldest, so it’s the complete opposite. We’ll be the first ones in his family to have a baby. So it’s safe to say everyone is beyond excited.

Oh Baby We're Pregnant 1

But it definitely has not been all sunshine and rainbows. I’ve had really bad morning sickness for the past six weeks…(and can we go ahead and get rid of “morning” in that phrase, because it lasts all day long.) I’ve really just been nauseous 24/7, and honestly nothing helps. But I just keep telling myself it will all be worth it.

It definitely has helped to have friends and family close during this first trimester to keep us occupied. And of course, huge shout out to Julianna for literally taking over all things blog related for the last few weeks.

Oh Baby We're Pregnant 3

At my last appointment, the baby’s heart rate was 168 bpm – any experienced mommys out there with a gender prediction for me?! Would love to hear what you ladies think! Clearly I’m new at this, so any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.

How I Found Out: Well I had a feeling I was already pregnant. So the day after I missed my period, I couldn’t sleep at all. I got out of bed at 4 in the morning and took a test! Haha! Sure enough, it was positive.

How I Told Ryan: Sorry to disappoint.. but I was far from creative. I was so excited that I told Ryan as soon as the test was positive. (Yes, at 4 in the morning.) We were both so excited that we couldn’t fall back asleep. We just sat in bed and watched Jerry McGuire on TV until about 7:30 when we finally fell back asleep.

How Far Along: 12 weeks

Baby’s Gender: Still a surprise!

How Am I Feeling: Still like crap… I have good days and bad days, but I’ve definitely been more sick than I imagined I would be.

Current Cravings: Culver’s concrete mixers, cinnamon swirl bread, beef jerky, and pickles. Literally the four most random foods on the planet.

What I Can’t Stand: Anything with carbonation.. I’m usually obsessed with La Croix, but even looking at it now makes me sick… same goes for all pop… so I’ve just been just been sticking to water.

What I’m Looking Forward To: Where to start.. everything!?! Right now we’re just so excited to be pregnant. As for this trimester, I’m looking forward to the gender reveal and to (hopefully) start feeling a little better! Oh, and I’d totally be lying if I didn’t say I’m excited to finally get my hair done in couple weeks… These roots are horrendous!

Stay tuned for more updates along the way! Please share any advice or thoughts in the comments below!

Prosecco Pours: Frosé All Day

Happy Monday, babes! We hope you are all having a great 4th of July weekend/week. This whole holiday on a Tuesday has been really throwing us off! But hey, we’re not in the office, so we can’t complain ;)!

Much like the rest of you, we’ve been obsessing over rosé this summer. So when I stumbled upon frosé, I knew I had to share it with you ladies. This frosé recipe is incredibly easy, and it’s just as delicious as it looks. The worst part about making this frozen beverage is waiting for the rosé to freeze. I recommend throwing it in the freezer first thing in the morning, so it’s ready by the time you’re ready for a cocktail.
